Customizing Android Home Screen Is An Art - 2

We all know customizing home screen is an exclusive feature of Android. And we also know customizing Android home screen is an art.  Today my home screen looks like this.

How To Do It

Tools required

• Holler! blk Icon Pack
• ADW.Launcher
• Desktop VisualizeR
• Two images for background which I got from Google search. Links are in the comment section.

Change your default launcher to ADW.Launcher. You can do it by clicking on ADW.Launcher icon. Then change the screen grid size to 4x4  in ADW settings->Desktop columns and Desktop rows. Set the background image to the downloaded image. Then disable the dock in ADW settings->App Dock. Once dock is disabled go to your home screen and resize the screen by pressing and holding on to it until ADW prompts with few options including resize.

Next Press Menu Key -> Add -> Widgets -> Desktop VisualizeR and select 1x1. This icon will be placed on your screen. Press on that icon , it will open desktop visualizer settings.  Click on select icon -> others -> Holler! blk Icon Pack. If you see no icons getting listed up, don't worry this happened to me as well , just click on "black" options present at the bottom right of the screen and all the icons will be displayed. Select which icon you need for the widget you are creating. There are hundreds of icon and it might take sometime to find out the icon you are looking for . Some icon will have action associated with it and some won't. Click on the icon then control goes back to desktop visualizer, there select an action for that icon. You can select a label to be displayed below that icon, if you see my screen I have not selected any label. You can also select the touch effect and vibration effect, I have set both effects to none. Then click "OK" and your icon is ready on the screen. I followed the the similar way to add all the icons except the app drawer one, because desktop visualizer sadly doesn't allow mapping between icon and app drawer action. That's the reason I am using ADW's default app drawer icon.


Android image what you see at the top of the screen is downloaded from some other website and I added it using desktop visualizer. Add widget -> Desktop visualizer -> 2x1. Icon will be placed on the screen. Click on the icon, desktop visualizer will be opened then select Icon -> Image file -> select the downloaded image. Set all other options in Desktop Visualizer to none.
