For best experience you will have to use devices with big screen. I tested this using my Galaxy Note which has ~5.5 inch screen. So display was not a problem for me. One assumption everyone would make is, since remote desktop is done using a touch screen mobile, we can touch icons in remotely accessed computer screen and select it. But that's not true. For any selection in computer you will have to manually move the mouse pointer in your mobile and select it. Same rule applies for opening an application as well. However you can zoom in and zoom out the screen. I initially tried this with Ubuntu but for some reason that enabling of remote desktop didn't work. I am not sure if it is because I am using chromium instead of chrome. Later I tried this on Windows 8 and it worked perfectly fine for me. I also tried playing a movie using remote desktop, it was not bad. There were some glitches but it worked. Remember sound will be played in your computer speakers and not in your Android device. I am not sure how to get that sound to Android device. You will have to make note of one thing here, while doing remote desktop from your Android device, remote computer will not be locked. Since your computer is already unlocked, anyone closer to the computer can access it and use it. Below screenshots are taken from my mobile during remote desktop.
