In today's "Customizing Android Home Screen Is An Art" post  I will explain how to make Android home screen to look like below. Intention of this post is not only to tell to how to make it look like below instead it is to let you know about the apps which can be used to customize the screen and give it a mesmerizing look. I name this theme as "Simply Blue".

How To Do It

Tools required
  • Nova launcher (or you can use your favorite launcher).
  • Black wallpaper and image of blue android.
  • Stamped Blue icon pack.

Above screen layout can be divided into 4 parts. Top 2 widgetsoid widgets then an android image then shortcuts to apps in last row.
  1. Set Nova as your launcher.
  2. Set blank back image as homescreen wallpaper.
  3. Menu -> Nova settings -> Dock -> disable dock.
  4. Menu -> Nova settings -> Desktop -> Desktop Grid  rows=5 and columns = 5.
  5. Menu -> Nova settings -> Look and feel -> Uncheck notification bar.
  6. Click and hold  the home screen - > widgets ->
  7. Create widgetsoid 4x1 switcher. Add toggles which you need. Go to themes uncheck "separation" , "show label". Choose background color as black. Choose icon color -> custom -> ff0ab6f5. If you need two rows then go to advanced and check 2nd row.
  8. Repeat step 6. Create widgetsoid 4x1 mixed. Change background color and apply.
  9. Repeat step 6. Desktop Visualizer -> 4x2 . Select icon -> image file -> downloaded android image. Select action -> none and click okay.
  10. Repeat step 6. Desktop Visualizer -> 1x1 . Select icon -> others -> Stamped blue -> select icon. Select appropriate action for that icon. Repeat same step and add your favorite application shortcuts.
  11. Resize the widgets to fill in the home screen properly.
  12. You did customize like a Geek. Now its time to show off like a BOSS!!!

Thanks and Enjoy Customizing.
